Welcome to Sumter High School

An International Baccalaureate World School

Hybrid Starts Monday, October 26th for Last Names A – L

Monday, October 26th Sumter High will start our Hybrid schedule.  Students with the last name starting with the letter A – L will follow the “A Day” or “Cohort A” schedule and will attend on Mondays and Thursdays.  These students will receive face-to-face instruction.  The school day will be a full day with the regular bell schedule (see Bell Schedule below).  The letters M – Z will still be virtual learning until the next phase is put into place, this time is still yet to be determined.  The SHS administration has put safety guidelines and procedures in place to do our best to ensure the safety of all students and employees.  It is required that ALL Students wear a mask in the building at all times.  Please note, parents have the option for their children to remain virtual for the entire semester.

The Virtual Learning Request form must be completed by the parent/guardian for each student that will receive virtual (online) educational services and instruction through Sumter School District.

Internet Issues:

Student’s Chromebooks do not connect to the school Wi-Fi unless they are on campus.  When a student is working from home Wi-Fi issues are directly related to the Wi-Fi service and/or the provider.  Please contact your provider if your student’s Chromebook keeps getting kicked off the Internet or the spinner icon is constantly spinning on the screen.  When troubleshooting one suggestion would be to ensure that other devices (smart TVs, tablets, etc.) are not accessing the Wi-Fi at the same time and if they are to turn them off so that only the Chromebook is using the Wi-Fi.
