    The Poetry Expressions Contest will start on April 1st. However, students may submit their poems starting on March 25th. All poems must be typed and have the student's name. The poem can be any type of genre. All poems must be submitted to Mr. Palmo in the library for entry.

    Prom 2014! The 2014 Prom will be May 3 from 7 PM - 11 PM in the Sumter High School commons. The theme for this event will be Sapphire and Ice / A starlit Romance. Juniors and Seniors from Sumter High will be invited to attend and will be allowed to bring a guest. Guests for prom must be no older than 20 years old, enrolled in high school or college or an active duty member of the military. Guest request forms for guests that do not attend Sumter High will be available outside of room D224 beginning March 3rd and must be turned in to Ms. Morris no later than April 14th. Ticket prices and sale dates will be announce at a later time.

     building at Sumter High without instructional permissions.

    Guidance Corner

    Students interested in working for the City of Sumter during the summer can pick up an application from the guidance office before school, during lunch or after school.  Applications will be taken between April 1st and May 2nd.  For your convenience, applications have been placed on the guidance counter top or you use the attached application.

    Open to all seniors in South Carolina that will be attending a 4 year university. 

    Tuomey Volunteer Services is looking for students between the ages of 14-18. Student Volunteers will be asked to volunteer at least four hours per week during the six-week summer session. Students will be selected from completed applications based on their essay, GPA, prior volunteer experience and/or community involvement. During the six week period, the Student Volunteers often learn many things about the medical profession and are exposed to various medical professions. Please note, this is not a shadowing program.
