Snow Cone Fundraiser
Friday, April 24th

The Sumter High Key Club will sponsor a fundraiser April 24th, 2018 during all four lunches to bring awareness to Drinking and Driving.

Snow Cones will be sold. The cost is $3.00 and all proceeds will be donated to The Mothers Against Drunk Drivers Annual MADD Walk in memory Myles Avery Holland a graduate of the Sumter School District and Claflin University who was recently killed by a drunk driver.

Make your voice be heard and support The Myles Project Friday, April 24th.

2017-18 IB Students and Faculty

To All Graduating Seniors who are currently enlisted in any branch of the military.  The State Department of Education will host its annual ceremony on May 16, 2018 at 11 am, recognizing and honoring students who are entering branches of the military or who have been accepted into a military service academy.  During this ceremony, a red, white, and blue honor cord will be presented to those eligible graduating seniors to wear during their high school’s graduation ceremony. 

To receive additional information, please bring your official document(s) to the guidance department verifying your enlistment.  The deadline is Friday, April 27 for all inquiries.    For any questions and/or concerns, please see Mrs. Twitty or Ms. Smith in Guidance.

    Central Carolina Technical College Dual Enrollment Program

Rising juniors or seniors that are interested in participating in the dual enrollment program with Central Carolina Technical College for the 2018-2019 school year must qualify no later than May 18, 2018. To qualify for dual enrollment through Central Carolina Technical College a student must meet the following criteria.

  1. Have a 3.0 grade point average.
  2. Have a passing score on one or a combination of assessments. Call 803-774-3306 to schedule a testing date and time for the ACCUPLACER placement test at Central Carolina Technical College.
    1. ACCUPLACER: Reading (65), Sentence skills (71), CPT (23), Arithmetic (20)  College Algebra (50), Elementary Algebra (90) to take Math 110
    2. ACT: Composite (19), Reading (19), Writing (19), Math (19)
    3. SAT: Math (530) Verbal/Reading (480)
  3. Student must take a minimum of six credit hours per-semester and cannot be enrolled at multiple postsecondary institutions.
  4. Student must have a completed Central Carolina application turned in no later than May 18, 2018.

   University of South Carolina-Sumter Dual Enrollment Program 

Rising juniors or seniors that are interested in participating in the dual enrollment program with the University of South Carolina-Sumter campus for the 2018-2019 school year must qualify no later than May 18, 2018. To qualify for dual enrollment through USC-Sumter, the student must meet the following criteria.

  1. Have a 3.0 grade point average.
  2. Have a passing score on one the following assessments. Call 803-938-3890 to schedule a testing date and time for the Residual ACT placement test at USC.
    1. PSAT Score: 900
    2. ACT: Composite (19)
    3. Residual ACT (taken at USC-Sumter campus)
    4. SAT Score: 900
  3. Student must take a minimum of six credit hours per-semester and cannot be enrolled at multiple postsecondary institutions.
  4. Student must have a completed USC-Sumter application turned in no later than May 18, 2018.
