Congratulations to Matthew Wilt for been chosen as the Sumter High School Teacher of the Year 2019-2020 school year!  Matt is a native of Sumter, where he now resides with his wife Hillary and soon-to-be three year old Hayden.  He graduated from Sumter High School in 2004 as a member of the inaugural IB diploma class.  Matt received his BA in History from the University of South Carolina in 2008 and his Masters in Education from the same institution in 2009.  He returned, much to his surprise, to Sumter to teach at SHS and has been here ever since.  When he is not at school, he is either teaching at the YMCA, performing at Sumter Little Theatre, traveling or spending time with family.

Attention Faculty and Staff:

SafeSchools Training is now available online.  Please refer to your email from SSD on July 9, 2019.  The mandatory courses are due by October 1, 2019.
