The SHS Junior Civitans, the best student club at SHS, spent Saturday morning (October 27th) cleaning up the grounds at our Sumter County Museum.  The students worked on this project for ‘World Junior Civitans Day’; a day when Jr. Civitans across the world do community service projects. Fourteen students and Mr. Austin cleaned the backcountry exhibits, raked up leaves, and weeded the herb garden.

On Saturday, October 7th Sumter High’s Junior Civitans International Club met at Dillon Park to pick up trash to help clean up the park. By the end of our clean up, about 12 bags of trash were picked up, and the wooded Cypress Trail was cleaned off. We will revisit in November to again clean up our local park.
