Special Award

Special Olympics South Carolina is pleased to announce that Sumter High School will be named a Banner Unified Champion School for its efforts to provide inclusive sports and activities for students with and without disabilities.  Sumter High School is receiving this honor as a result of meeting national standards of excellence in the areas of inclusion, advocacy and respect.  Special Olympics South Carolina extends congratulations and appreciation for the dedication Sumter High School has exuded in creating a school culture where EVERY student, with and without intellectual disabilities, is accepted, respected and valued.  Click below to read the full letter.  Go Gamecocks!

Special Olympics

The SHS Unified Sports students traveled to Greenville to compete in Unified Bocce and Unified volleyball.  The students did an excellent job and we are so proud of them.  Over 1500 athletes, coaches, and volunteers were registered, making this the largest state event yet.
