I am originally from Florence, SC and a Class of 2000 graduate of Wilson High School. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Winthrop University (2004) and a Master's degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College (2007). I have also obtained a Gifted and Talented endorsement from Coastal Carolina University (2010). This is my 13th year in education and I have taught in grades 6-8 as well as grades 9-12 in the high school. I have been fortunate to be able to teach students at Dent Middle School (Richland 2), Chestnut Oaks Middle (Sumter School District), and currently Sumter High School. I am married to Corey Mitchell, who also teaches and coaches at Sumter High, and we are the proud parents of Cayden, Devyn, and our God-daughter, Diamond. We like to travel, attend sporting events, shop, and frequent various restaurants.
